What parents ask
How long does the procedure take?
The entire home visit usually takes around one hour, from arrival to completion.
The circumcision itself typically takes around 1–3 minutes. The rest of the visit allows time to complete the consent forms, prepare your baby, explain the procedure, and provide clear aftercare instructions so you feel confident caring for your newborn at home.
Do you use anaesthetic?
Yes. We use a topical anaesthetic cream to numb the area before the procedure, helping minimise your baby's discomfort.
How long does it take to heal?
Healing usually takes around 10–14 days, although this can vary slightly from baby to baby. We provide clear aftercare guidance to help you care for your baby during recovery.
Can I hold the baby normally after circumcision?
Yes, you can hold and cuddle your baby as usual. For the first 24 hours, double nappies can provide extra padding and help protect the area while keeping your baby comfortable.
Will my baby be in pain afterwards?
Most babies settle quickly after the procedure and return to their usual behaviour. Some discomfort may occur, but following the aftercare instructions carefully will help keep your baby comfortable during recovery.
How do I care for my baby after circumcision?
Aftercare is simple, using gauze and Vaseline. We’ll explain everything clearly, provide written instructions, and remain available by phone 24/7 during the first 24 hours to answer any questions and offer reassurance.
